Python in easy steps, 2nd edition instructs you how to program in the powerful Python language, giving complete examples that illustrate each aspect with colourized source code. Python in easy steps, 2nd edition begins by explaining how to install the free Python interpreter so you can quickly begin to create your own executable programs by copying the book's examples. It demonstrates all the Python language basics before moving on to provide examples of Object Oriented Programming (OOP) and CGI scripting to handle web form data. The book concludes by demonstrating how you can use your acquired knowledge to create and deploy graphical windowed applications. Python in easy steps, 2nd edition makes no assumption you have previous knowledge of any programming language so it's ideal for the newcomer to computer programming. It has an easy-to-follow style that will appeal to programmers moving from another programming language, and to the student who is studying Python programming at school or college, and to those seeking a career in computing who need a fundamental understanding of computer programming. The Python 3.x language is under active development so frequent new releases are made available as small improvements are added to the language and Python in easy steps, 2nd edition features the very latest versions of Python at the time of publication. Python development is one of evolution, rather than revolution, so the examples provided in the book can be used in subsequent releases – simply download the latest version of Python then follow the easy steps. Python is the language used to program the Raspberry Pi - covered by Raspberry Pi in easy steps and Raspberry Pi 3 in easy steps Review: Super book for beginners. Great use of color thru the book (not just the cover, like so many). - A super book for beginning programmers. I'm running a Python Bootcamp next week, and this book will be a great supplement to the online course. Review: Very compact with no filler - I purchased several Python programming books, including the popular Head First book. However, for quick learning, this one is the best. There's compact explanations and simple examples of a topic and then they move on. On the other hand, the Head First Python book goes into great detail, discusses every nuance, and presents long examples for every topic. They both are very good but, for me, I would suggest starting with this book and getting a good overview of everything. Then, go to another book if you want more details.

Simple and to the Point
This is a short text on Python for beginners. Very readable and well written. Not for pros, but a very good brief text if you are just starting out with Python.

Not really plain English
I bought this for my son, who’s English is his second language. I bought it due to the claim of being plain English, but it’s not. It isn’t written as simply as it could be.

Easy Pleasant Read. Short and to the Point.
This book is just so wonderfully put together, I'll be looking for more titles in this series. The only negative is that it's not got a ton of info packed into it but, then again, it's a low-cost book, light in the hands and presents the info it does have in really aesthetically pleasing, colorful small pages. The graphics are beautiful and the colors keep me awake. It's not one of those monochrome tomes. It's very portable, bigger than a pocket book but not nearly a full sized book either. Great for taking along to appointments and traffic jams. I haven't gotten through a lot of it but it's obviously an introductory book for beginners and really hits the spot for me.

Excellent book, recommended
This book takes you through the basics of Python: How to download and install, first code, integers, loops, file read/write, etc right up to a tkinter windows application. The steps are set out logically. The code is introduced in a really logical way. There were a few times that I thought “I’d really like to do this beyond what’s in the text”, done some research online, done a few extra steps then turned the page and there is the same stuff. So it’s done in a way which means that following the book will really help you improve. I’d recommend using Jupyter Notebook (free) to do the code and write notes, but you can do the coding using notepad or idle. Sounds gibberish? Get the book and you’ll know all this in no time. A perfect primer for Python performance. Once you understand the basics, you’ll easily be at ChatGPT coder level.

Python Is Fun!
I really enjoyed working through this book. It goes through all the essential things, including CGI scripting, building interfaces and even freezing your own application to make it ready for distribution. The examples are very well understandable. I'm looking forward to my next book from this series!
