Silver Makeup Brush Review: Great customer service - ***UPDATE*** 8/16/2017 A brand rep reached out to me regarding my poor experience with the purchase of this set. I was refunded my money and was sent a brand new set of brushes within 2 days of contact. All of which had the handles properly and securely attached. I have been extremely happy with the durability and quality of the brush heads/bristles and I'm thrilled to have a new, undamaged set in my hands. Great customer service goes a long way, especially when the product is just as great. I'm extremely happy with the resolution and effort made by Dermatique to correct the situation. I received these brushes in a timely manner and paid a good price for them. I wasn't sure which set to choose, but there is a great amount of versatility in the brushes provided. When I opened my package however, 6 of the 10 brushes had come unglued from their handles. I super glued them back on & used them today. I hope the glue will hold as I think the bristle quality is quite nice. I guess the old adage, "you get what you pay for" is especially true in this situation. I am disappointed in the craftsmanship quality especially since this product was tagged as "desertcart's Choice". Review: But mine were not like the other ones I guess - I got this set because of the reviews. But mine were not like the other ones I guess, Some of the brushes tops were off, they also shed, Quality of the brushes were ok. I returned them.

Good basic set
Pros: +comes with a piece of paper instructing you what kinds of make up products to use which brushes for +the bristles are nice and dense. Feels like high quality +Brushes are a good weight and feel nice holding Cons: -a few of the brushes had one of two bristles that stuck out/weren't even with the rest of the bristles. Nothing a little trim couldn't fix though -some shedding, but minimal when washing the brushes -here's the real point that docked the stars: loose handles. Not all of them. All of the smaller eye brushes were solid. Some of the bigger brushes had wiggly handles. About 3 of them. Only gets worse after multiple washes. For the price, it's a decent set for basic make up

Great set for the price!
So, I'm 37 years old and have been using the brushes that come with the makeup products I purchase (I'm talking the little bitty brushes that they include in the little compacts) and I thought it was time to graduate to actual brushes that real adults use to apply makeup! I didn't want to spend a lot on my first set so I did a lot of browsing and came across this set. I purchased the brushes in black/silver (you can choose gold or silver accents). They arrived quickly and were packaged in a cute little ziplock pouch. The back of the packaging had a graphic of each brush and what it is designed to be used for (which was helpful because some of them are similar). Overall, I love this set. The brushes are sturdy - no bristles falling out, very soft, and a nice size for your hands. I have not used all of the brushes yet, as I don't apply heavy makeup most days, but the 5 or 6 that I have used, I am quite impressed. I like the little pouch that they came in, as I can store the brushes I'm not using inside to keep the clean and damage free. I will definitely purchase these again if and when they wear out. Very pleased!

nice beginner set******updated 8/17/15
***************************************UPDATE************************************************************************************* The seller contacted me in regard to my review. She was disappointed they were defective and quickly sent a new set for revaluation. It is FAR sturdier than my original set. All brushes were secured to the handles and they even felt sturdier--like maybe the metal was crimped a little stronger. They just didn't feel floppy like the first set. I do think it's due to the bad glue job on the original set. I didn't notice a difference in the amount of product used between the two sets They are phenomenal for powder, but I still looked slapped when I tried it with my Mally's liquid blush. I did increase my review from 3 to 4 stars. As I stated in my review the set does not contain eyeliner and lipstick brushes so I did deduct a star for that. The outside packaging specifies that the smaller brushes are for powdered eye shadows but the inner brush guide refers to them as concealer, primer or foundation brushes. Again, they are easily used for eye shadow and I've been happily using them for eye shadows for months now. I think the brush guide needs to be updated so that the smaller brushes are referred to as eye shadow brushes. For people new to brushes or a young teen trying to learn to use brushes it may be confusing. Again, I've been using brushes for over 20 years, I might just be anal. I think it's a great for powdered products. I wish it had eyeliner and lipstick brushes. If it did, I'd likely give it 5 stars and consider it a fabulous every day typical user set. If you plan to use the brushes for liquids or gel like products, I would look for a more professional set. In an effort to be transparent, I did leave the original review below. *********************************************************************************************************************************************************** Original Review I've been using makeup brushes for well over 20 years and will be the first to admit I might be a bit anal when it comes to my brushes. As I was unwrapping each brush 5--yes 5 brushes were not glued to the wooden handle. Some of the remainders are wobbly. Since I prefer a shorter brush, this wasn't much of an issue except that when I order a product, I expect it to have some kind of quality control and 5 brushes not attached to a handle isn't quality control. Mind you, with a glue gun, this is easily remedied, but still they were not attached. The brushes themselves are o.k. They are very soft, but I find that softness sometimes doesn't mean they function well. For example when using a Mally's liquid blush, it used far more than I would normally use and left my face looking like I had been slapped. Yes, there are a lot of brushes but if you look at what they're for, how many do you really need or will you use for foundation or concealer etc? What I didn't see and was EXTREMELY disappointed with was that a lip brush wasn't included nor were any for eyeliner??? Those of us that refuse to use the crappy applicators in the packaging know how important it is to have a good quality eyeliner, lipstick and eye shadow brushes. Yes, you can use some of the smaller brushes for eyeshadow and truthfully you can use any of these anyway you like. . but when I get a kit of make up brushes I want an eyeliner, lipstick and several eyeshadow brushes. . . not 10 that work for foundation and concealer. If you are new to using make up brushes this is probably a nice beginner set for you to try them out and to maybe have a good powder or blush brush on hand. If you are an experienced brush user, I'd pass and find something more professional.
